Coach Bob Gobel brings over twenty five years coaching experience to the National Football Academies. As head coach at West Virginia Tech, he led the Golden Bears to their first conference title in forty years, earning him the honor of WVIAC Coach of the Year, as well as becoming one of eight finalists for NAIA Coach of the Year.  During this time he coached All-Conference OL Bill Doyen, a former Tampa bay Buccaneer and New York Giant.

After coaching at Tech and West Virginia State University for a total of eight years, he returned to what he enjoys the most: high school football.  In 1996 he led Countryside High School in Clearwater, FL to their first playoff game in school history.  On his team, Coach Gobel had the opportunity to impact H.S. All-American OT Ben Brown, who later became a Florida Gator, OC David Schmidgall, a three year starter at GA Tech, Clint Mitchell, a member of the SEC All Freshman Team at Florida and with the NFL Denver Broncos as well as John Amburgy who played OG at Princeton.

Coach Gobel has spent the past few years continuing his love for high school football coaching the offensive and defensive lines at Hurricane H.S. in West Virginia.  Coach started out his career with football playing college football at WV Tech, becoming a WVIAC All-Conference OT, and an NAIA Honorable Mention All-American.  He finished his playing days with the Tampa Bay Bandits of the USFL.

Coach Barry has also coached at Tennessee, Southern Cal, Colorado, Iowa State, Arizona and Southern Illinois. He has coached in 14 bowl games  and won two national titles with teams serving as an assistant with Colorado in 1990 and Tennessee in 1998 where he was also honored with the SEC Line Coach of the Year Award. He has had the privilege to coach 12 players in college who have progressed on to play in the NFL, many of which were selected in the first and second rounds of the draft.

Prior to coaching, Coach Barry played center at Nebraska and at Southern Illinois where he graduated with a degree in recreation and education. Coach Barry’s very first coaching assignment was at Carbondale High School in Illinois and then he proceeded on to Fenwick in the Chicago area. Here Barry says, “high school gave me my first experience in coaching. You learned from the guys you coached.” Coach Barry states that high school football formed the foundation of his coaching career.

Mike lives in Novi, Michigan with his wife Beverly and is a proud father of two children, Joe and Courtney.

Harrison continued his playing career on a full scholarship at Penn State University as Center, Guard and Tackle under the guidance of college football’s most winning coach, Joe Paterno.  During this time he played for the 2005 Big Ten Championship team and participated in the Fed-Ex Orange Bowl game. Greg is now excited to be teaming up with the NFA family using his passion, skills and experience to help high school players across the country achieve the same great success he encountered.  The National Football Academy is excited to have Greg as part of their team as they move into the 2010-2011 season.

His college playing career started at Colby HS in Colby, KS where he was named to numerous All-District, All-Area and All-State teams. He continued playing at Fort Scott Community College in Fort Scott, KS where he was fortunate enough to participate in the Midwest Bowl (1991) and the Valley of the Sun Bowl (1992). He continued and finished his playing career at the University of Richmond, graduating in 1995 with a Bachelor of Sport Sciences degree. He received his M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from Lamar University in 2009. Coach Farmer has experience playing at several positions along the offensive line, tight end, defensive line and punter.

Coach Farmer has over 13 years of coaching experience in Virginia, Colorado and Texas. He has coached all offensive positions, as well as the defensive line. He has served in the capacities of Offensive Coordinator, Special Teams Coordinator, Strength and Conditioning Coordinator, as well as, position coach in his career. His has been blessed to coach in programs whose combined record over his career is 92-33 with five District Championships, nine playoff berths and one Texas 5A state finals appearance. Coach Farmer has a unique ability to motivate and elevate his players and coaches around him.  Coach Farmer has been married to his wife Kellie for five years. The couple just welcomed their first child, Jacob, in July.
